#teamwater x Fortnite: Gaming for a Global Cause

Team Water Key Art 16x9 4k v1

Born from creativity, teamwork, and the generosity of the Fortnite Creator community, #teamwater became more than a campaign — it was a shared movement. Integrated seamlessly into 20+ of the platform’s most popular maps, the initiative invited hundreds of thousands of players each day to take part in a global effort led by MrBeast and Mark Rober in support of WaterAid. Over the course of a month, the activation lit up Fortnite with millions of interactions and hours of play, proving the platform’s ability to rally audiences around causes that truly matter.

Strategic intent

We set out to amplify the global #teamwater initiative inside Fortnite by crafting a player experience that blended fun with purpose. The goal was simple yet ambitious: raise awareness for water accessibility while uniting the community around a cause championed worldwide by MrBeast and Mark Rober for WaterAid.

Experience

Experience

With the generous support of top Fortnite Creators, we brought to life a journey that placed the cause directly into the flow of play. From integrated mechanics to visible in-map activations, players encountered #teamwater not as an interruption, but as a natural part of their favorite games. What emerged was a powerful demonstration of how creativity, kindness, and collaboration can transform gameplay into advocacy.

Impact

Across 31 days, #teamwater engaged hundreds of thousands of players daily and spread across millions of sessions. It showed that Fortnite can be more than entertainment — it can be a stage for global causes. None of this would have been possible without the imagination and generosity of the Creator community, who helped bring millions together behind a mission bigger than the game.
